/// An elegance

I'm currently reading Diane Keaton's autobiography. There's something about her that I just love. She's got this certain air about her that is so intriguing. I think it's the way she wears her clothes, combs her hair, holds her cigarette, how she phrases things so bluntly, the way she is such lady but also so perfectly boyish.
I think I've got such a soft spot for her because of her role in Manhattan which is closely my favorite film. You probably shouldn't even get me started on my love affair with Woody Allen....

"Collecting and reworking images, reorganizing the familiar into unexpected patterns in hopes of discovering something new, became one of our shared beliefs. Collage, like abstract reasoning, was a visual process for analyzing information.

/// this is OUR LAND

This rooftop garage is way too good and it's been our home base all summer. It's like another world up there. We just stay and talk for hours and watch the sunset. I think everyone needs their summer spot, and this is ours.
Summer's this good should never leave your side.

/// frightened eyes

Buying these floral leggings was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I find a profound happiness in choosing my outfit for the day because it's such an expansion and expression of myself and clothes can make you feel a hundred different ways. But there are just some pieces that make you feel like a million bucks. And that's what these leggings do for me. And I really don't think you can get any better than that.

/// TRUE SHRED

The weekend at Pitchfork was the best weekend of my life. Easily. No questions asked. I felt so much love for everyone around me, I was reminded why I have passion for what I do, there was a sense of community as you were in the crowds of people all there enjoying and loving the experience. And that's really what made everything so beautiful- the experience. You listen to certain songs and albums and each moves you in a certain way, but seeing them live is unreal as the music is in the air, the people, the breeze, it's just all around you.
There was something so right about the sun beating on your back, going back to get free Kefir all day, looking through old records, watching Grimes at dusk, Beach House at sunset, Sleigh Bells in the heart of the afternoon, and Vampire Weekend as the stars came out, and all of it experienced with my bro's.
I swear though, during Sleigh Bell's set we.were.infinite.

/// BORN.FOR.THIS.

Jamming with my bro's all weekend. At a hot summer festival in Chicago. With crowds of people all there for exactly the same thing that you are: to be endlessly inspired and re-energized by artists.

I am so ready.

$TARS and $TRIPES

"FORGET ALL YOU HATERS, USA IS FOR LOVERS."

Yes. My weekend and the days surrounding the 4th were pure gold. There is just nothing better than when you're listening to music on the dock while reading and spontaneously you jump into the water and have a pre-dinner swim with lovely people. The sultry nights, talks in the cottage kitchen listening to jazz, my bro's and I drinking coffee late at night at a shabby cafe, the dazzling water, and fruit for dinner all combined and created something marvelous. Such a perfectly leisurely lifestyle comes over you instantly at the lake. I was just overwhelmed with love for the lake house and the people there.

/// Lemonade

Really all of these days have blurred together in a dazzling blur. A little bit of everything: warm weather on the lake, cigarettes intermingled with nighttime drives, Moonrise Kingdom, sultry nights with talks till 4 in the morning, plans for a trip to NYC, infinite sunshine and blue skies, and of course you can never forget a little bit of Seinfeld here and there.

July had a perfectly timed arrival. Everything seems even more limitless. So vibrant and pure.
I can't wait for all the wonderful things to come.
