Gosh, I love Christmas break. Thus far I've watched a lot of Seinfeld, stayed up ridiculously late watching Charlie Bartlett and eating popcorn with friends, listened to an absurd amount of Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeros, and had a snowball fight with all my homiez. Now here it is officially Christmas Eve and the nostalgic memories and familiar feelings are pouring in at an alarming rate. Everyone's mellow, wrapping presents, drinking wine, eating so many cookies and it feels really good. I'm also listening to this song. Cheers, homiez.

This weekend I was snowed in but it was alright because all weekend I drank English breakfast tea, baked gingerbread cookies, read Anna Karenina, watched Christmas movies with my family and it was quite glorious. The fir trees set against the blue skies with the sun reflecting in pink and purple on the immense white stretch of earth is all at once comforting and invigorating.

I'm snowed in this weekend and it's been really lovely. More of my own photos to come but for now:

Recently, I've been appreciating how chill my parents are about me having friends over. Because I'm definitely that kid who will spur of the moment have all my friends come over and we will certainly make a beautiful mess when we have a massive grilled cheese party. And we will definitely be incredibly loud while we watch Christmas movies. And we will certainly be cleaning the cupboards of all good food while we talk and laugh till it hurts. But my parents are somehow still mellow about it all and for that I am grateful. Somehow I underestimated how lovely this time of year can be - especially when you're with your favorite people.
