All the windows were down and summer's slow steady spell was pulsating over the sidewalks and people on the streets and the entire warming earth. My head was on the window ledge, my hand moving like a wave, Cam's body was halfway out of the car, Zac driving with a cigarette in hand, and life was moving in a sultry slow motion as the sounds of French Inhale washed over us. We barely talked except to exclaim in soulful tones and dance, eyes sometimes closed, to the hot vibes. The bright afternoon already so full promised the infinite summer.

I live for summer. The days are so full of magic and the people I love that they're blending together in a golden haze.

I want to always be held in that spell of waking up to the ocean, the hot air flashing on the sand and the road, the endless green, and the sweet palmy air that speaks of a thousand California summers held in space and time as the eternal summer. Even my lungs could taste the good vibrations in the air every day.

Down south we lived for the long nights that stretched before us as endless and colossal as the clear night sky above. We ran together- the dream team- barefoot, hair flying, knees scarred, on the asphalt and the beaches, hopping fences, avoiding 3 AM sprinklers and the cops.

Uncle David set up the projector and we watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off outside beneath the bright moon and stars and it wasn't cold it was magic. Summer has finally arrived.

Feel satisfied and wholly yourself waking up and leaving in your braids from last night, never fixing them,
and scarcely looking in the mirror because it just doesn't matter.
Always put on something you can raucously run wearing if you (and your friends) feel driven by the core of the earth to run and lay in the flowers, climb the blooming trees, shred the pavement with your longboard, or explore the restricted rooftops.
You must, at any moment, fearlessly and without a second thought,
seize the day with golden hands, anxious for the magic that makes life tick.

We felt spring pushing through the stems of grass, blowing between the trees, and filling us with complete euphoria. It felt like enough to drive downtown with all the windows down and the music blaring, screaming the lyrics at each other as the sunset turned everything gold. I was full of peace and good vibes, ready for summer, and grateful for the people I love.
