The night before the first holiday of this magic season is great. No matter what you do, it feels special and extraordinary because everything is so mellow and everyone is together. Even the cheezy TV specials and the Macy's Day Parade are spectacular. It has come to my attention that the anticipation of the holidays can be better than the holidays themselves. It's the day before Thanksgiving and I'm entirely full of that warm cozy feeling that only this time of year can bring. I'm also ridiculously sentimental listening to Christmas music and thinking about everything good and I want to give everyone I love a massive hug and yes, like I said, I'm sentimental and I hope you are too because it can be a beautiful thing.

Cheers!

Seeing MGMT was an utterly transcendental, psychedelic experience. The thing I took away from the show was how entirely comfortable they were on stage with themselves and with each other. They didn't give a crap which is a rare, wonderful thing to see. Andrew walked around the stage with ease, putting a flower crown on his head as he went while the bass player would close his eyes, entering some other groovy dimension. They just let the good vibes flow through their veins and spread it all over the crowd like glitter. They did their thing the way only they can. It sounds cliche but it was all thoroughly inspirational. These guys are crazy cool and I'm in love with them and all they do.

I love the weekend. When school starts I begin to fully appreciate them because I get a lot of energy from being around people I love and the weekend is full of just that. These photos were taken in places that are very familiar and comforting to me. The first two are Erika's house, one in the morning as we drank coffee and listened to Christmas music, the other at night when we cooked and watched movies. The third is taken at my Grandma's lakehouse. I talked a lot about this place in the summer because 1. it's my favorite place on earth where 2. my cousins (i.e. pretty much my siblings) and friends have spent many a wild summer day and night. So on these rare occasions when I visit my Grandma throughout the rest of the year I am always overwhelmed with very powerful memories and feelings that are closely intertwined around my heart.
I hope your weekends have been spectacular.

Now the leaves have whirled into oblivion and the only color left behind is the phosphorescent pink in the November sky at sunset. But while the gold on the trees bloomed in late October and lingered on last week, it was marvelous and life felt infinite.

Last night I had the privilege of seeing James Blake. It was everything I wanted it to be. His soulful voice intermingled with the bluesy piano was melting/breaking my heart one minute, and the heavy low end and crazy good beat would shake my bones the next. I really love the way him and his band members are such bro's and how they've been together since university because it just adds this cool feeling to the show. To top off this whole mesmerizing experience, it snowed on the way there, and it was magic.

It's that time of year again. That good Harry Potter feeling is rapidly pouring into my soul and saturating me, once again, with eternal adolescence.

The hibernation season is upon us. I love going on long walks in the bitter cold. I love chilling in my room  feeling mellow while listening to the Beatles. I love having popcorn parties every weekend with my bro's. I really love that I'm going to see James Blake and MGMT next week. But what I love most of all are the extraordinary people in my life that make everything spectacular.
