// the city brings inspiration //

Travelling by train to Chicago on such a perfectly crisp+sunny Saturday was everything I needed. I always seem to forget just how much energy and inspiration the city brings. The moment I was walking along the streets with my brilliant crew, breathing the city air, wandering through the designer stores and hearing the city sounds, I was reminded how much I belong in a big city.
Coffee drinking on the streets, adoring Zara's spring collection, and brilliant conversations all throughout the day. It was perfect and just the inspiration I needed. It's true that it is imperative to go somewhere new for creative energy. This Summer will be full of travels.

Cheers to the new week, darlings!

// a craving for knowledge //

"As soon as a true thought has entered our mind, it gives a light which makes us see a crowd of other objects which we have never perceived before."
-Francois-Rene de Chateaubriand
"Minimalism is not a style, it is an attitude, a way of being. Its a fundamental reaction against noise, visual noise, disorder, vulgarity. Minimalism is the pursuit of the essence of things, not the appearance."
-Massimo Vingelli

This has been one of those weeks full of beautiful revelations and epiphanies. All I desire right now is to read all the books I can get my hands on, watch all the documentaries that appeal to me, talk to the inspirational people around me, and spend time with myself sketching and enveloping myself with excelling quotes. A source of happiness this week has been the brilliant fashion week streetstyle and flawless new designs. I hope beyond all hope that someday I will be a part of the presentation of those immaculate designs, living in my wondrous apartment right in the heart of New York City, the city of all perfect cities.

Cheers to the weekend, darlings! I do hope yours is lovely and full of brilliant adventures. I have the pleasure of visiting Chicago this weekend and I reminded how much bliss big cities bring to me.

// inspired days //

"Every day I discover more and more beautiful things. It's enough to drive one mad. I have such a desire to do everything my head is bursting with it."
-Claude Monet
I love new weeks, and every single one seems to bring a beautiful quantity of new inspiration and perspectives. These past days I've been listening to the newly found (for me) Tennis. Their new album is absolute perfection and I die being reminded of Summer's bliss. I will certainly be purchasing the Satorialist's new book to be released this September. And can we please just talk about the beauty of Kinfolk's stunningly welcoming first dinner in Portland? I'd like every one of my weekends to look like that.
Last Friday my sister, brilliant friend, and I went the the most glorious old book store that was crammed with floor to ceiling bookshelves crammed full to the point of bursting with beautifully smelling books. I completely stocked up. And yes, there was even a sliding ladder like the candy man in Willy Wonka. It was magic.
 I don't think I've ever voiced how blogging makes me feel redeemed after taking so many photos. And it also seems like a portfolio. But what makes me happy best of all is my Tumblr page. It utterly speaks my style and pulls together what words can't describe.

Enjoy my random thoughts and links! Cheers to this beautiful new week! I hope yours is wonderful.

// weekends //

"Life is so full of unpredictable beauty and strange surprises. Sometimes the beauty is too much for me to handle. Do you know that feeling? When something is just too beautiful? When someone says something or writes something or plays something that moves you to the point of tears, maybe even changes you."

Snippets from these wonderful Winter weekends: bookstores, sushi, The Artist, early Valentine making, Beirut+Beach House+Lana Del Ray, wonderful conversations, homemade pizza, sticking to black, Downton Abbey every Sunday, coffee all day, ever-evolving inspirational collages, feeling nostalgic buying movie theatre popcorn+Coca-Cola from the fountain for Woman in Black, brilliant friends, and last but certainly not least, purchasing tickets to see the perfect St. Vincent in May....I will surely die.

Cheers to the weekend, darlings! Cheers to Feburuary! And cheers to everything wonderful!

// needing some wellingtons //

 It's days like today when all is misty and sunny and enchanting, the trees are silhouettes so stark against the blue sky, and my breath puffs in clouds before me that I am reminded of England and my longing to visit. Those ideal ideas of England with the thatch-roofed cottages and chimneys with smoke, drinking tea in a wing-back chair, and pulling on your Wellingtons and mittens to go feed the chickens always come back to me at this time of year.
