Everyone wanted to think we'd come back one last time but inwardly we all knew it was our last swim of the summer. The cool blue dusk air was balmy and honeyed on my skin, the moon glowing early, a few stars emerging as we swam. We jumped in countless times, relishing the sensation of flying in water, knowing the warmth of the water was the last summer ritual of the year.
